This filter fits AquaClear Powerheads (except models 110 and 901), and is ideal for polishing water after maintenance. Turns your powerhead into a "Quick Filter" for rapid removal of most particulate waste (as small as 1-micron). Includes extra-fine weave of duo-density polyester pad and internal frame to prevent pad from clogging input to powerhead. Use continuously or periodically when needed. Also allows for extra circulation when needed without the risk of the powerhead drawing in small fish or anemone. Powerhead not included. Filter measures 2-1/2" diameter x 7" high.
Please click on "More Information" for instructions on filter usage.
Installation:
For AquaClear Models 201, 301, 2000: Insert Powerhead strainer into the quick filter with adapter plugs in place.
For AquaClear Models 400, 402, 800, 802, 3000, 4000, and 5000: Insert Powerhead strainer into the quick filter with adapter plug removed.
Will not fit Maxi-Jet Powerheads.
Cartridge Replacement: Change cartridge when it gets dirty, about every 2 weeks if used constantly.
Multiple Unit Attachment: For deeper aquariums, removing the extender cap from the top unit and inserting the second unit with its top adapter plug removed can connect a second unit. For fine carbon granules, use a wad of polywool at the top of the core to prevent carbon from entering the pump.

I have been using the powerhead quick filter for several months now for "water polishing" after cleaning the substrate in my Cichlid tank. It does a wonderful job at eliminating the tiny peices of waste left floating in the tank afterwards. The water in my tank appears to be a lot clearer, and has really extended the use-life of the supercartridge inserts on my main filter system!
This filter is a life saver for quick cleanups after major tank maintenance, or even to help get rid of green water. In conjunction with a coagulant and UV, I have gotten rid of green water in less than a day with this filter!
A proper flow rate is essential for your aquarium's filter to work its best. This means that your aquarium will stay cleaner longer, providing a healthier environment for your inhabitants.
A crucial - and often overlooked - aspect of keeping a reef aquarium is water movement. Proper water movement goes a long way toward helping a reef system thrive. Corals and other reef inhabitants are accustomed to rapid, constant water movement.
