Hydor Ario Turbo Air Pump

Unlike conventional air pumps, air is actively incorporated into the water column and propelled via impeller for oxygen-rich water movement. Silent operation - no noise or vibrations. NEW Ario 4 Moonlight incorporates a white LED for a unique, nighttime moonlight effect. Black base is so tiny you can bury it under gravel. 1. Unwind the electrical cord and the air intake tube.
2. Connect the air intake tube to the air pump chamber.
3. Join together the electrical cord and the air intake tube by using the included spiral cord/air intake tube connector.
4. Position the air pump in the aquarium. For perfect stability, cover the base (Ario 1, 2, and 3 only) with gravel. In order to prevent noise and disturbance caused by vibrations, position the pump so it does not come in contact with the aquarium wall or other objects.
5. Fix the electrical cord, joined to the air intake tube, to the aquarium base and side using the supplied suction cups.
6. Cut the air intake tube so that it extends at least 1-1/2" from the aquarium frame and then insert air control valve.
7. Plug the Ario air pump into the electrical supply.

NOTE: Verify that all components of the air pump are undamaged. Always operate the air pump underwater. Running the pump dry will cause structural damage to the rotor. Install the product at the suggested depth to prevent accidental damage or limited functioning.

Regulating Air Flow
The amount of air can be controlled to your desired level by turning the air control valve.

Maintenance:
Regular cleaning and maintenance of the air pump will ensure better performance and durability. Before any kind of maintenance, always disconnect the air pump.

• Separate the air pump chamber/pre-filter from the air pump body and remove the rotor.
• Clean the rotor of lime scale with a soft, nonmetallic brush.
• Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water and re-assemble components. Make sure the rotor is properly positioned in place.
• Do NOT use solvents or detergents.

Troubleshooting:
If the Ario air pump is not working, check if. . .

• It is connected properly to electrical supply.
• The air pump is damaged.
• The air pump is positioned at the proper depth.
• The air control valve is not completely closed or blocked.

If the Ario is noisy, check that . . .

• It is positioned far from aquarium wall.
• The pre-filter is not blocked.
• The air intake tube is not partially blocked.
• The rotor is positioned correctly.

I purchased the Hydor Ario 4 with the blue LED for my 20 gallon community tank and I really like it! No pump is necessary and it has an adjustable air flow which is conveniently located on the tube outside of the tank. I'm just ready to set up a new larger tank for Angelfish and plan to order another in red. I would definately suggest this product for anyone who wants a beautifully alluminated tank!
