The easiest way to remove algae for simple aquarium maintenance
Mag-Float®?
Essential tool for convenient aquarium maintenance - magnetic algae scraper scrubs away algae and film without ever getting your hands wet.
Having a Mag-Float® on hand is as essential for aquarium maintenance as keeping a net and bucket near your aquarium. Scrub away algae without ever getting your hands wet, thanks to its clever magnet-on-magnet design.
Simply drag the no-scratch, felt-lined handle, and inside your aquarium, the scrubber follows, cleaning as it goes. Better yet, if the magnets separate, the scrubber floats right back to the surface, so you'll never have to dig around on the bottom. Models available for either glass or
acrylic aquariums.

Tips from our Techs
Because you never have to reach into the aquarium, Mag-Floats prevent toxic lotions or soap residue on your skin from getting in your aquarium. They keep your hands dry, and you don't ever have to worry about losing the scraper on the bottom because it floats when not attached to the magnet through the glass.
Instructions for Use:
Clean the outside aquarium surface thoroughly before each use.
Do NOT use Mag-Float® above waterline or on dry glass.
Use Mag-Float® only on aquarium material, size, and thickness of glass specified.
Remove all debris from the Mag-Float® prior to use.
Leave the Mag-Float® attached to the aquarium surface.
DO NOT place magnets together outside of the aquarium after its initial use, unless:
Magnets are completely dry. For longer durability, maintain the felt on the magnet's dry side (logo side that is placed on the exterior aquarium surface). This portion of the magnet does not float.
KEEP THE Mag-Float® AWAY FROM CHILDREN and electronic devices such as computers or pace makers.
Instructions on replacing the Mag-Float® Pad/Felt
Note:
Felt is applied to the magnet that contains the Mag-Float® logo.
Pad is applied to the magnet that does not contain the Mag-Float® logo.
Step 1
Remove old Pad/Felt entirely without damaging the plastic surface of the magnet.
Step 2
Apply mineral spirits on a cloth and rub plastic surface until all excess glue is removed (glove use recommended).
Step 3
Wait until plastic surface is completely dry before applying new Pad/Felt.
Step 4
Peel back paper backing from new Pad/Felt approximately a quarter of the way.
Step 5
Line up the new Pad/Felt with the plastic surface area of the magnet.
Step 6
Apply pressure to the Pad/Felt area that has been peeled off so it glues onto the plastic surface of the magnet.
Step 7
Apply pressure to the rest of the new Pad/Felt as you slowly remove the rest of the paper backing. This will help prevent any air bubble to be formed between the plastic surface and the Pad/Felt.

This thing is great. Nothing will stay behind, it takes everything off the glass and will float back to the top as it says. Watch your hands as the magnets are very strong.
This is an essential product for cleaning algae off your glass. It makes maintenance a lot easier by negating the need to get wet and scrub the algae with a brush, and it even floats for easy retrieval!! This product has greatly enhanced the aesthetic quality of our tank by allowing us to easily remove unsightly algae.
This is my new best friend when it comes to my fresh water aquariums. I do not like to stick my hands in the aquarium no matter how clean I think they are. Mag-Float is ideal for me since I can feel safe that toxic things that could be on my hands never get near the water.
These magnets are far superior to the cheap ones. With my previous cleaner, if I moved it too quickly it would fall off down into the sand and I would have to fish it out and clean it off before I could continue scrubbing the glass. I got the floating cleaner to avoid this, but the magnets are so strong that I don't have to worry about it falling in the first place! I would highly recommend this product.
I bought the extra large one and it works 100 times better than the large one. My toughest algae was gone in one pass. The magnet is very strong so do not let the two pieces attach together as it is extremely hard to get them apart. Also, inspect the pads to be sure no foriegn objects are on them as they will scratch your aquarium if so. Best algae cleaner I ever bought. Worth every penny to buy the biggest one. Quick and easy algae remover. Like I said, "one pass and gone". Hands down the best.
Don't take the quality of your tap water for granted. If you draw your water from a well, nature may not be providing you the perfect balance. If you are using tap water from your municipal department, it likely includes minerals and additives.
Algae are prolific and opportunistic organisms that take advantage of aquarium systems that are out of balance. Water quality issues create ideal conditions for algae. This article explains how proper water quality helps control algae.
