Algo Clear Active Sticks are fully biological agents that effectively clear water in the pond without disturbing its ecological balance as a habitat. They even help make pond conditions not conductive to the growth of certain types of algae - they won't form in the first place, which creates ideal conditions for clear and natural water in the pond.
Sticks contain:
Humic matter and tanning agents, barley straw, and peat granulate. These sticks are completely harmless for plants, fish and animals.
Application:
For newly constructed garden ponds, it is ideal to introduce Algo Clear Active Sticks into the pond in the first few days. To ensure clear water, evenly sprinkle two handfuls per 250 gallons into the pond, repeating every four to six weeks. For particularly green water, use twice the regular amount. After one to two weeks, the water becomes much clearer. A slight clouding of the water at the beginning of the treatment is completely normal and clears away after a few days.
Tips:
General Recommendation: To combat algae, introduce water plants as natural feeding competitors and keep about a quarter of the pond in the shade. Good aeration and filtration of the pond is essential with larger fish stocks.

Pond owners assume that the presence of any algae in their pond is a cause for concern. While it is true that algae can easily turn an attractive pond into pea soup, it also has many benefits. Learn how some algae is ok, & how to keep it controlled.
In ornamental ponds, algae problems are typically due to high phosphate levels from excess fish waste, fertilizer run-off, decaying plant matter, and an overabundance of nutrients in the water used to fill the pond. Learn more here.
