Liquid algae control for ponds with plants and fish. Colorless and non-corrosive, AlgaeFix® controls many types of algae including "green water" blooms and filamentous algae. Thoroughly mix into pond/fountain by adding near the pump outflow, waterfall, or aeration device, or premix in a bucket of pond water and disperse evenly. Be prepared to siphon out dead filamentous algae to avoid sudden filter clogs and loss of vital aeration. 8 ounces treats 2,400 gallons.
To use: Add 1 teaspoonful of PondCare AlgaeFix for every 50 gallons of pond/fountain water. Repeat dose every 3 days until algae is controlled. Do not use with crustaceans, including crabs, shrimp, and freshwater lobsters.

Purpose and Benefits: AlgaeFix is a liquid algae-control product for use in ornamental fishponds, water gardens, fountains, and freshwater aquariums. Approved for use in ponds and aquariums containing live plants and fish. Controls many types of algae including "green water" blooms and filamentous algae and is colorless and non-corrosive.
Directions for Use: 8 fl oz treats 2,400 gallons. 16 fl oz treats 4,800 gallons. 64 fl oz treats 19,200 gallons.
Add 1 teaspoonful for every 50 gallons of pond/fountain water or 1/2 cup for every 1,200 gallons. Thoroughly mix into pond/fountain by adding near the pump outflow, waterfall, or aeration device. Can be mixed in a bucket of pond/fountain water and dispersed evenly around the pond/fountain. Repeat application every 3 days until algae is controlled. Be prepared to siphon out dead filamentous algae.
Once algal growth is under control, add one application per week. Weekly treatments will control algal growth and reduce pond/fountain maintenance.
Caution: Do not use AlgaeFix with crustaceans, including: crabs, shrimp, freshwater shrimp, and freshwater lobsters.
WARM WEATHER CAUTION: Before using, make certain that the pond has vigorous aeration; e.g., a fountain, waterfall, or aeration device to avoid fish loss due to low oxygen levels. When algae is removed by the filter or settles to the bottom of the pond, the oxygen level may drop to a harmful level if adequate aeration is not provided. Therefore, when using during warm summer months, adequate aeration is required.
*Do not shut off pond pumps and aeration devices at night.
Note: For ornamental pond use only where all water is contained without any outflow. It is a violation of federal law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.

This is the only product that helped clear our string algae. A couple of quick treatments to start with and then treatments once every couple of weeks keep my pond crystal clear. If used when setting up a new pond you will never see the algae.
Our 6,000-gallon Koi pond cleared of string algae within one week of using AlgaeFix. It didn't hurt the water lilies at all. Make sure you provide plenty of aeration when using. Our Koi were a bit stressed during use. I used it as directed at 3-day intervals the first week. I am now using it once a week.
We have a 4500 gallon pond in direct sun all day at 5200' elevation so this is a extreme challenge for string algae removal. AlgaeFix has been our string algae removal product for 2 seasons now. This is by far the best string algae removal product on the market. With proper water flow and aeration, it works fast and does not harm fish, lilies, or bog plants. It does not burn your water iris and bog plants like some other powdered products will. This product works quickly and with proper care keeps the string algae out all summer long. I highly recommend this product.
I have been using AlgaeFix for the last 2 yrs. This yr my waterfall was covered in algae, I pour Algae Fix over just the waterfall and with in 2 days it was all gone. Now when I see it just starting I pour more on and it disappears. This stuff is wonderful, my pond is also algae free
