Saltwater in the hatcher never mixes with aquarium water
Hatch
brine shrimp (sold separately) continuously in your marine OR freshwater aquarium. Unique design means saltwater in the hatcher never mixes with aquarium water. Hatched shrimp simply swim out into your aquarium by their natural attraction to light, while fish guard keeps hungry mouths out. Includes: hatcher, 40" of airline tubing, measuring spoon for salt/shrimp eggs, cleaning brush, and holder with suction cup. Measures 2-1/4" x 4-3/4" x 8-1/4" high.
Requires a small air pump that will provide between 75-100 l/hr. For freshwater aquariums, the addition of
aquarium salt to the Hatchery will be necessary.

This works pretty well - I was impressed. My hatch rates were also much improved over the other hatcheries, possibly because of the temperature control from the aquarium water. I would definitely recommend the product. If you have small fry (on the order of angelfish fry, for example), put some aquarium net material behind the outlet cap.
This is a wonderful device that takes all the work and most of the guessing out of the equation. All my freshwater fish love freshly hatched brine shrimp!
In cleaning the hatchery, there will be some spill over; however do not be concerned. If your tank is big enough it will not harm your freshwater fish. Almost all freshwater fish live in brackish water to some extent, even inland lakes as far north as Michigan have some dissolved salt in them.

the nutritional

supplementing the diet with live food
can provide additional nutritional benefits.
With the wide variety of commercial foods
available, it is sometimes difficult to determine
which type of food to feed your fish. When
choosing a food, the first thing you need to know
is what type of diet is natural to your fish.
Fish need protein, lipids, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals. Unfortunately few foods contain all or enough of these essential nutrients. Therefore, the best way to ensure all their nutritional prerequisites are met is to give them a varied diet.
