Buffer saltwater aquariums to maintain proper pH between water changes
Replicate natural marine environments with Seachem premium salt mixes. Enhanced alkalinity buffers aquarium water to 8.4 for greater pH stability. Dissolves quickly to a clear, ready-to-use solution. Marine Salt contains every major, minor, and trace elements so even the most delicate marine fish, invertebrates, or plants will thrive. Reef Salt is specially formulated for optimum concentrations of magnesium, calcium, and strontium. Safely maintains elevated levels of calcium, strontium, and iodide for healthy coral growth in home reef aquariums. Free of nitrate, phosphate, and non-essential components.

Directions
Mix salt with dechlorinated tap or purified water. If source water quality is extremely poor, the use of a RO/DI system is recommended.
Stir well to ensure a good mix. Although the salt solution may be used immediately, aerate the water to achieve oxygen/carbon dioxide equilibrium.
Measure specific gravity. Recommended range for marine aquariums is 1.020 - 1.023 at 75°F. For reef aquariums: 1.020 - 1.025 at 75°F.
Adjust salt level accordingly. If specific gravity is too low, add more salt mix; if too high, add more dechlorinated or purified water.
Change 25% of aquarium water every 2-4 weeks (or as necessary) to maintain optimum water quality.
To prepare small quantities, use 1/2 cup per each US gallon of water. NEVER add salt directly into an aquarium containing animals. Always prepare salt mixture in a separate container.
CAUTION: Not for human consumption. Keep out of reach of children. Contact in dry form may cause skin or eye irritation. In case of eye contact, completely flush eye(s) with cool water and seek medical attention immediately.

I've probably used 7 or 8 different salt mixes over the years, some more expensive, some less than the Seachem Reef Salt. Bottom line is that every other similarly or lower-priced mix has led to a decline in the populations of small inverts and often difficult to manage Ca, Alkalinity, and pH. Mixes perfectly, with no residue left in the bottom of my mixing containers even after hundreds of gallons mixed. Ca level in the Reef Salt Mix is sometimes a little high (480-500 ppm), and I do wish it available in boxes or bags instead of the buckets (buckets are handy, but you can only keep so many of them...)
Create the perfect saltwater mixing container to have available for emergency water replacements as well as your regular water changes. We explain how.
Specific gravity measures the relative salinity (amount of dissolved salts) in your aquarium water in comparison to pure water. Measuring specific gravity on a regular basis is crucial to maintain the ideal environment for your marine inhabitants.
