| Frequently Asked Questions Regarding the ecoxotic Panorama LED Module
Q. Can I overdrive my Panorama LED Module?
A. No. The Panorama Module is designed for maximum performance, efficiency and longevity. Altering the driving system (overdriving) is not recommended and will void the warranty.
Q. How warm does the Panorama Module get?
A. Under standard operating conditions the Panorama Module runs at 55°C. Based on your specific application and how many modules you are using, a fan may be required to ensure they are operating below 55°C.
Q. Will the Panorama Module produce enough light to keep Tridacna clams?
A. Yes. The Panorama Module can provide enough light for many types of animals. And because they have places they like to live and places they don't, we've developed a Coral Planning Map to help guide you in the successful placement of your corals for optimal growth and health.
Q. Can I connect my Panorama Module to a dimmer or controller?
A. You can connect the Panorama Module to a timer, but use of a dimmer or controller is not possible at this time.
Q. Can I use the Panorama Module inside a plastic hood?
A. No. Plastic hoods do not provide adequate ventilation for convection cooling to take place.
Q. Is the Panorama Module UL/CSA approved?
A. The Panorama LED module uses a low voltage UL-Listed wall transformer.
Q. Is the Panorama Module Waterproof?
A. Extremely water resistant, but not waterproof, never submerge the unit, or purposely expose it to direct water contact.
Q. Does the Panorama Module require a cooling fan?
A. Under most circumstances, the Panorama Module requires no cooling fan due to the heat sink and convection cooling. Using multiple Panorama Modules may require additional fan cooling if they are reaching temperatures above 55°C. They are equipped with thermal switches which will turn the units off if they are getting too hot.
Q. What maintenance is required on my Panorama Module?
A. All inspections and maintenance should be performed with the unit unplugged. We recommend a weekly inspection including wiping away any visible signs of salt creep from the outer surfaces of the modules.
Q. Can the Panorama Module be placed directly on an aquarium?
A. No. The Panorama Module is designed to be mounted to a canopy. It is not intended to be placed directly on the top of an aquarium.
Q. Is the Panorama Module linkable?
A. No. The Panorama Module is not linkable, but our Stunner strip lights are linkable and available in a variety of color temperatures.
Q. Will the Panorama Module grow hard coral or SPS coral?
A. Absolutely. Depending upon the depth of your aquarium and the number of modules used, the Panorama Module provides light that is appropriate for many types of animals. And because they have places they like to live and places they don't, we've developed a Coral Planning Map to help guide you in the successful placement of your corals for optimal growth and health.
