Tap water conditioner removes chlorine and chloramine

Detoxifies ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, and heavy metals

Safely condition water without a pH drop or overactivating protein skimmers
No other aquarium water conditioning product is required to make tap water safe. Prime removes chlorine and chloramine (even in high chloramine levels), and detoxifies ammonia and nitrite. Provides essential ions and stimulates natural slime coat. Prime also detoxifies any heavy metals found in the tap water at typical concentration levels. When used during cycling, Prime enhances nitrate removal and does not cause a pH drop or overactivate protein skimmers. Great for setting up new aquariums, or when adding or changing water, or to remove nitrate. Use 1 ml for each 10 gallons of water. For freshwater or saltwater use. 100 ml treats 1,000 gallons; 250 ml treats 2,500 gallons ; 500 ml treats 5,000 gallons; 2 liter treats 20,000 gallons.

Directions for Use:
Use 1 capful (5 ml) for each 50 gallons of new water. For smaller doses, please note each cap thread is approximately 1 ml. This dose removes approximately 0.6 mg/L ammonia, 3 mg/L chloramine, or 4 mg/L chlorine.
May be added to aquarium directly, but better if added to new water first. If adding directly to aquarium, base the dose on aquarium volume. Sulfur odor is normal. For exceptionally high chloramine concentrations, a double dose may be used safely.
To detoxify nitrite in an emergency, up to 5 times normal dose may be used. If temperature is > 86°F and chlorine or ammonia levels are low, use a half dose.
Principal Ingredients: Bisulfites and hydrosulfites, aqueous solution, buffered at pH 8, with ameliorating ingredients. Reducing agents.
Frequently Asked Questions regarding Prime: Q. My Prime smells like it went bad, is it ok to use it?
A. Yes. While Prime has a very distinct odor that is similar to sulfur, this is completely normal and does not affect the performance of the product. The presence of small black specks is also normal.
Q. I am using Prime to control ammonia but my test kit says it is not doing anything; in fact, it looks like I added ammonia, what is going on?
A. To avoid false readings of ammonia, use Seachem's MultiTest Ammonia kit (item #901231). It uses a gas exchange sensor system that is not affected by the presence of Prime or other similar products. It also has the added advantage that it can detect the more dangerous free ammonia and distinguish it from total ammonia (which is both the free and ionized forms of ammonia (the ionized form is not toxic).

This stuff works great. I was using another brand of dechlorinator that was causing my skimmer to go nuts. This stuff doesn't do that. A little does go a long way. I would recommend this to anyone.
This product is amazing! Recently, my tank went through a nitrite spike. The readings were 15 ppm! The fish were showing signs of stress big time, so I purchased a bottle of Prime, and the next day the fish were fine! It also allowed my biological flitration to more effeciently remove the toxins. Prime saved my 55 gallon tank ( and my striped peacock eel and pumpkinseed fish)!
This product is one I cannot do without. The area I live in also treats the water with Chloramines as well as Chlorine, making most products useless to me since they only treat Chlorine. This is a great product at an affordable price.
This is great stuff. I had to disconnect my charcoal filtration, etc., while medicating my tank for fish, and Prime did a wonderful job of insulating them from any excess ammonia. I also use it with my Python water changer and it acts rapidly enough to protect my fish against chlorine.
This stuff works GREAT! The nitrites in my 29-gallon tank were off the chart and nothing I did brought them down. The fish were stressed and I was afraid they would start to die off. I bought a bottle of Prime and did the "emergency" dosing. The next morning I was amazed at how clear my tank was! Not only that, but all my fish were out swimming happily and healthily. Even the fish that had stayed hidden for days were out in view. When I tested the water, the nitrites were at zero! Literally overnight! I'm definitely keeping a bottle of this stuff on hand!
