Add one capful (10ml) per 10 gallons of water. Treat on days 1, 3, and 5. Use as soon as the first signs of disease are noted. Treated water may appear cloudy at first due to the presence of the microscopic spheres. All cloudiness will be gone within 30 minutes to 1 hour after treatment. Maintain normal filtration and air during treatment.
Active Ingredients: Sulfadimidine and Trimethoprin
General Information:
Maracyn Plus is a broad-spectrum antibiotic for controlling the bacteria that cause mouth fungus, fin and tail rot, Popeye, dropsy and ulcers.
Benefit: Maracyn Plus makes use of a revolutionary technology that delivers the antibiotic directly to the fish. Multi-layered micro-spheres attach to the fish and break down one layer at a time releasing the antibiotics in a controlled regulated manner. A filming agent, Chitosan, which has a molecular structure similar to the natural mucous coat of a fish, seals the treatment in contact with the tissue surface.
Use: Contains two powerful broad-spectrum antibiotics that are effective against the bacteria that cause Fin and Tail rot, Popeye, Dropsy, Ulcers, and "Mouth and Body Fungus". As the bio-spheres attach to the fish, they form a protective medicated layer over the fish's skin that kills the infecting bacteria and prevents re-infection. The healing properties of chitosan speed up the regeneration of damaged tails, fins, mouths and skin. For use in fresh and saltwater aquariums.

An outstanding product that I used for my wild discus that would not eat. Of special importance is the microsphere delivery system that gets to the fish quickly and efficiently. My mistake initially---I added a new fish without quarantine!
I've always heard that dropsy is untreatable and fatal. One treatment of Maracyn Plus cured my cherry barb, who was full-blown with dropsy. And all without removing my carbon filter or changing my aeration. I was thoroughly impressed and pleased. I highly recommend!
To safeguard your aquatic life, you need to test your water parameters often and look daily for the warning signs of trouble. Because illness or trauma can worsen rapidly, it's best to have the right medications on hand to deal with the situation.
When your fish become sick or diseased, you need to take corrective action. First observe the condition of your fish, identify the type of disease, obtain information about the conditions in the aquarium, then treat the sick fish.
The best prevention against disease is to keep your fish healthy in a stress-free environment. A varied diet, stable temperature, and good water parameters are key. If they do get sick, use this selection guide to find the right medication.
Saltwater ich (ick), or "white spot disease" is one of the most common diseases that infect marine fish in home aquariums. It is caused by Cryptocaryon irritans, and is similar to freshwater ich.
